The New York Red Bulls have declined to practice choices on nine players for the 2016 season. Among them is Shaun Wright-Phillips, the sibling of the group's driving goalscorer from 2015, Bradley Wright-Phillips.
The Red Bulls, who simply lost 2-1 on total to Columbus Crew SC in the Eastern Conference finals, likewise declined choices on goalkeeper Kyle Reynish, safeguards Roy Miller, Damien Perrinelle and Anthony Wallace, midfielders Leo Stolz and Marius Obekop, and advances Manolo Sanchez and Dane Richards.
This was the second year in succession the group left the playoffs only one amusement shy of the MLS Cup.
